How can i install Java?

Java is installed automatically after installing the modpack.

Prism Launcher/MultiMC (or any fork)

1. Click on Settings -> Java

2. Select Installation, then click Download

3. Select Adoptium, then select Java version (21 or 25) and click Download

4. Select General, then click Detect and select installed by you javaw.exe

• Note: to launch NO, you need to add check for "Skip Java compatibility checks" option

Recommended JVM args

Java 25

-XX:+UseZGC
-XX:+UseCompactObjectHeaders

• Generational is now the only ZGC mode. A good demonstration of what I mean by “if it were better, it’d be the default”. The JVM is constantly getting optimized and improved by very smart people.

Java 21

-XX:+UseZGC
-XX:+ZGenerational

• Consider updating to Java 25 to benefit from major improvements to the JIT and GCs.
